Brooklyn Peace Center provides experiential opportunities for developing skills in peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Our aim is that through individual and collective work, persons and communities, equipped with the skills and experiences to transform personal and systemic injustices, build a peace-full world together.
Education is essential to personal and social transformation. Brooklyn Peace Center’s pedagogical approach to peacebuilding is intersectional and contextual. Driving questions: What does peacebuilding look like in Brooklyn? Who is this peace for? How does peace happen among us?
Through community dialogues, workshops, seminars, and arts & culture events, Brooklyn Peace Center themes include: antiviolence work, restorative justice models, developing interpersonal skills that facilitate peace-full relationships, and providing a foundational understanding in trauma awareness and resilience-building.
